Reach
Reach is our exciting new daytime project designed to help each member achieve their goals and reach their full potential!
What will we do?
At Reach, mornings will be spent developing new skills, whilst afternoons will be for fun and friends! You can choose to come to both sessions, or just one, depending on what feels right for you. You’ll work closely with staff to identify what is important to you and how you can achieve it.
- Achieve goals and learn new skills
- Gain confidence and independence
- Have fun with friends
- Get out in the community
How does it work?
Morning sessions will be focused on learning new skills and developing independence.
Afternoon sessions will be a time for making friends, having fun and getting out into the community.
Ahead of each term we will send you a new timetable with a summary of the plan for the term. We’ll ask you to let us know which day you would like to attend, and whether you want to come to the morning session, the afternoon session or both.
What to expect?
Enterprise and Maths: These will be creative sessions where we’ll be deciding what we can make to sell in our Yellow Submarine cafes and beyond! We might decide to make candles, soap, cards or perhaps jewellery. Our members will be sharing their ideas, deciding on their role and working on a project plan. We will work on packaging, budgeting, marketing and how to sell our end product. We will also be working on our Maths skills and how we can budget in our day to day lives.
Fitness and Wellbeing: Everyone has different ways to keep their ‘Wellbeing’ on track. In these sessions we will try out lots of ways that may help us to feel positive. This might be a yoga class, gardening, spinning, a walk in the woodlands or a craft activity. We will cook some of our lunches and look at a healthy eating plan and how to have a balanced diet. We hope you will find techniques that work for you that you will continue to enjoy in your own time.
Communication Skills: The focus in these sessions will be developing social skills, confidence and communication through drama and role play. We will create characters and look at how differently people react in certain situations. We will think about what we find challenging in our day to day lives and how we can overcome this. This will give us the tools to know how to respond in situations we might find difficult.
Cost of the sessions
- Morning sessions will cost £30, this will include the cost of lunch.
- Afternoon sessions will cost £10 plus the cost of activities.
