How do I find out about upcoming activities?

How do I book a young person onto activity days?

A request form is included within the activity programme. Parents or carers must complete this and return by the deadline date. Please note; this is a request and not a booking.

We ask that you note preferences for preferred activities on the booking form; this allows us to allocate spaces on activities based on your child’s specific interests.

Once booking forms have been received spaces will be confirmed. You will then be notified if your child has a place on the requested activity.

Will my child be guaranteed a space on a requested activity?

Unfortunately popular activities are sometimes oversubscribed. We do not offer spaces on a first come first served basis – activities are allocated on basis of preference, need and personal circumstance.

We will do our best to ensure that places are distributed fairly and aim to offer as many families support as possible.

How much do activities cost?

All activity days cost £25. This covers entry to attractions, any required equipment/materials, any transport and staff support.

On occasion we may suggest the young person bring some spending money for a treat or memento. This is entirely at your discretion and we can support them to look after the money if required.

How do I pay?

We will send invoices by email or post. You are welcome to pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer. Payment details will be included on invoices.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Yellow Submarine Holidays’.

Is there any financial support available?

We don’t want cost to be a barrier to any child accessing our service. If you are struggling to meet the cost of activities, we may be able to help you access ‘short breaks funding’. We will support you with the application, whereby activities will be part funded and you will be asked to make a manageable contribution.

We receive direct payments or a personal budget, how does this work?

If you recieve direct payments/personal budget for your child then you can use this money to pay for sessions if you wish. All you need to do is keep your invoice and use this as a receipt for payment.

What does my child need to bring?

In the weeks before the activity you will be sent further information concerning the event, this will include a kit list and any need to know details.

You will also receive a text message reminder the night before the activity.

What times do activities run?

Typically, activity days run between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

On occasion, timings for Explore Days may be altered due to the location or nature of the activity; you will always be made aware of this at the time of booking. If we are delayed by traffic or similar, we will notify you on the return journey.

I need to cancel a booked activity

We recognise that circumstances may change at the last minute; please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the place to another young person.

In some circumstances we may need to charge the payable amount if the place is cancelled less than 48 hours in advance.
