M did not look forward to school holidays as she would be bored. But since joining Yellow Submarine she looks forward to each trip and has had a great summer.

Throughout the year we organise a residential holidays for adults with learning disabilities and/or Autism. We usually take a group of between five and eight people with disabilities away together, to various locations throughout the UK and also to France. All our holidays are led by trained and experienced staff aided by volunteers, often with close to a 2:1 ratio of care.
To be eligible for a Yellow Submarine adult residential you must:
Regrettably our holidays are often oversubscribed, so if we are unable to accommodate you on a residential trip this year we can signpost you to other organisations offering a similar service.
Our most important priority during residentials is to provide a safe holiday environment to give parents and carers confidence.
Holidayers can choose from a wide range of destinations and we pride ourselves in providing a natural holiday environment. We don’t use sterile care homes for our breaks but make great point of staying in normal, but often breath-taking holiday cottages.
With the large kitchens, living and dining rooms these properties benefit from we create a sense of shared space, cooperation and mutual support on the holidays.
We encourage the holidayers to plan their meals and contribute to shopping, preparing or cooking meals based on their abilities. Everyone is supported on the holidays to learn new skills, express themselves and within a protected environment to look after both themselves and one another.
Our feedback forms from holidayers record that 78% say they ‘gained new skills on the holiday’, 67% feel ‘less anxious after the holiday’, 78% felt ‘more confident after the holiday’, 89% felt ‘healthier for the holiday’ and 100% said they ‘made new friends on the holiday’. Perhaps the best testimony of all is that over 90% of our holidayers have either come, or are now booked in to come, on another break with us.
