M did not look forward to school holidays as she would be bored. But since joining Yellow Submarine she looks forward to each trip and has had a great summer.
Yellow Submarine runs a variety of activity days during the school holidays for young people (aged 11-18 years) with learning disabilities and/or autism, based in Oxford, Witney & Abingdon.
Visit community venues such as the theatre, bowling alley or Race Hut. Sometimes we go further afield and travel to exciting attractions such as Chessington World of Adventures, Coral Reef, Warwick Castle and Cotswold Water Park.
Hub days (Wednesday)
These days are ideal for
spending time with friends. Various activities are offered based on themes such as superheroes, Lego, the circus and space. We can do anything from cooking to messy art to crazy science to trips out in the local area.
Multi-sports days (Thursday)
A chance for young people to stay active during the holidays! These days include swimming, more traditional sports and sports you might never have tried before – think Ultimate Frisbee, acrobatics and wheelchair basketball to name but a few.
Forest days (Friday)
Outdoor adventures at a range of sites, including Youlbury and Lea Wood! A fabulous chance to explore, get muddy and play in the woods. Learn bushcraft skills, such as fire lighting, tracking and shelter building, or try your hand at whittling or camp cooking.
