Yellow Submarine are excited to announce a new engagement project aimed at 17-19 year olds with additional needs who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET).

Unlocking Potential Oxfordshire is a new initiative to support young people NEET to overcome the challenges they face and begin to consider their future options with some optimism. Supported by Oxford City Council, and funded by the Big Lottery and European Social Fund, this bespoke community based learning programme will deliver training and development programmes for hard to reach young adults through 1 to 1 mentoring, tailored coaching and community liaison; activities are focused on the needs/interests of each individual, ensuring the people who access the service have a genuine and ongoing role in how their programme is designed and delivered.

In addition to this, the project aims to engage with employers in the creation of supported work-placements, trials, and employment opportunities, whilst also offering invaluable benefits to businesses and employers from the skills and experience shared by a diverse workforce. This project has a uniquely long-term outlook, due to the provision of in-work coaching in order to sustain placements.

To get involved contact Adam on 01865 236119, or via email at adam@yellowsubmarine.org.uk. Or you can find more on both our website www.yellowsubmarine.org.uk/our-activities/for-young-people/building-better-opportunities/ and at www.upoxfordshire.org for information on our fantastic project partners.

Yellow Submarine Charity shared Caroline Dean's photo.

She did it! A massive well done to Caroline - what an amazing challenge to overcome, two marathons in two weeks. WOW!

Caroline is so close to reaching her target and there is still time to donate - so please show her how awesome she is!

A huge thank you to Kate for coming to London to cheer me on at miles 13 & 22! It was fantastic to see you! Running 2 marathons in 2 weeks was incredibly hard but I truly had an amazing day in London! I'm smiling in nearly all 25 of my official photos! I've been given more money today but the website is constantly busy so I'll add the donations when I can but it's safe to say I've smashed our target! Thank you everyone for supporting me in my crazy but hugely rewarding challenge! #winningforyellowsubmarine
