Background - Kheiron School of English is a British organisation, established in 2007 with the aim of helping non-native speakers of English who live and work in Oxford.  They offer a selection of affordable English classes to students of various nationalities to help them better manage everyday living and enhance their employment opportunities, and to integrate more effectively into life in the UK.

The need - Kheiron School of English is a young and small business, ambitious to expand its English language services to better meet the needs of the migrant community in Oxford.  The School found itself in a situation where it wanted to improve the marketing of its language services but lacked the expertise and time to be able to do so effectively. They approached First Spark to provide technical website development and marketing support for their courses.

Meeting the need - First Spark has supported Kheiron School on a demand basis over the six-months, Jan– June 2008. Key activities have included:

• Web site development
• Development of an on-line application system
• Search engine optimisation
• Research for the business on organisational structure with a view to maximising funding opportunities
• Ongoing mentoring on website design and marketing strategies
