Home Visit Fruit and Veg Project
The project is aimed at providing a fresh fruit and vegetable delivery scheme for older people who request it in the Burford/Carterton area of West Oxfordshire. The goal is to have a useful reason to visit elderly people and in typical circumstances be able for stay with them for around 20 minutes for a social visit.
- Burford – limited availability of locally produced fresh fruit and veg – people have to travel, especially difficult for the elderly
- Elderly demographic in Burford and surrounding area who would not only benefit from fresh produce but also regular social visits from a volunteer
- Potential for engaging broad sector of society in volunteering, local food production, elderly – youth contact, revitalising rural communities.
