In contrast to last time, we had a lovely sunny day, perfect for doing jobs in the garden. We started off with a couple of tea and a walk around the vegetable patch to see what was growing. Brian won the prize for correctly spotting the most vegetables! After that Liam and Rin picked elderflowers to make cordial whilst Brian and John got stuck into mowing the lawn! Judy picked some garlic and made us some delicious garlic bread for lunch! Everyone was very hungry after all their hard work and so we all enjoyed a big lunch of spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread, and crumble and ice cream for pudding! There was some planting to be done after lunch, sweet peppers and cucumbers and these are now growing well in the greenhouse, we’re looking forward to see how much they’ve grown by our next gardening day.
Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun day. Have a look at the photos to see what we got up to! If you’d like to join us at the gardening project our next event will be on Saturday 10th July. Contact Lucy on 01993 822098 for more details. That’s all for this month.

8th May 2010
The Yellow Submarine Gardening Project has started!!!
We had our first meeting on Saturday 8th May. Brian and Judy from Witney came along to help us tidy the vegetable patch going but unfortunately it poured with rain!! We still have a lovely day, we sowed some sunflower seeds, picked spinach from the vegetable patch and cooked a nice quiche for lunch. We watched an episode of River Garden and learnt how to grow tomatoes, and we bundled up spinach for our Fulbrook neighbours and for Brian and Judy to take home. And of course we had lots of nice cups of tea!
If you’d like to come and join us, our next gardening dates are Saturday 12th June, Saturday 10th July and Saturday 7th August. The cost is £5 which includes lunch and transport to and from your home. To book a space please call Lucy on 01993822098.
